Personalizing Your Car's Interior

When you really think about it, you spend a lot of time in your car, which is why it is so important to focus carefully on creating a beautiful, open space. About three months ago, I realized that I needed to do something to personalize my space, so I started investing a lot of time and energy into making my vehicle more homey. I started going through and retrofitting different things, and it made a big difference. Before I knew it, I was able to see myself in my car's interior decor, and it made me feel more at home on the way to work. Check out this blog for more information.

Staying Safe While Waiting For A Tow Truck To Arrive

Breaking down on the road is stressful, but there are some things you can do to prepare for an emergency and help make things a little more comfortable while you are waiting for the towing company to arrive. Being prepared can reduce stress for you and your passengers.

Prepare By Getting Roadside Services

One thing that you may want to consider when preparing for any drive that is longer than usual is joining a roadside assistance club. These organizations offer members specific services in case of an emergency, and usually include towing and a call center that you can call into for help in many different situations.

A roadside assistance club will often cover the cost of towing if you need to take your car to a local shop. They have access to lists that let them know which companies are available for the area you are in, and if it is late at night or early morning, they can find a 24-hour towing company for you.

Prepare By Building A Safety Kit

Another thing you can do to help stay safe while you are waiting for a towing company is to put together a roadside kit that includes water, blankets, a flashlight and batteries, some snacks that will keep in the car, and roadside emergency reflectors or flares. There are a lot of other things you may want to add to the kit as well, but you can tailor it to your needs, the time of year you are traveling, and unique concerns you have.

When you are waiting for the towing company to arrive, putting out the safety triangles will help people see your car on the side of the road, and it can help the tow truck operator find you as well. You should have two to three triangles that you can put out behind your car. Space them out, so the last one is a hundred or so feet from the rear of the vehicle, and be careful to keep them inside the breakdown lane so cars will not clip them as they pass by.

Prepare For When The Tow Truck Arrives

It is essential to check with the towing company to see if you can ride into the shop with the tow truck. If not, you will need to call for a ride or have someone pick you up when the towing company gets there.

Stay with the car until the towing company arrives, unless it is not safe. If the vehicle is in a spot that presents a danger to you, you may want to find a location away from traffic to wait, so that you can still see the car and know when the towing company arrives.
